Bogolyubovo:

Bogolyubovo is located 10 km (6 miles) east of Vladimir near the convergence of the Nerl and Klyazma rivers. Town was founded by and named after Andrei Bogolyubsky, grandson of the prince Vladimir Monomakh. After coming to power in 1157, Andrei Bogolyubsky, who was known as deeply religious man, began active construction of churches, fort, living quarters, and tower. Several years later Andrei was assassinated on the steps of his house. In the 13th century, Bogolyubovo became a monastery, and Andrei Bogolyubsky was canonized. Today, magnificently decorated Uspensky Sobor (Assumption Cathedral) and Andrei's greatest creation the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl considered to be most perfect medieval Russian churches.
